What a test does

When you run a test, your browser exchanges test data (random bytes) with this site’s server to measure latency, download speed and upload speed. The test doesn’t save your results on our servers, but standard web server logs may record the requests, including your IP address.

What this page reads

Connection details such as link type and the browser’s own bandwidth estimate are read from your browser and shown on your device only.

Stored in your browser

Your recent results, test length and light/dark theme are saved in your browser’s local storage. “Clear history” or clearing site data removes them.

Advertising

Ads are delivered through Bigheim Technologies, LLC’s advertising service at ads.bigheim.com. Ad requests include standard connection information, such as your IP address and browser headers. The service records ad impressions and clicks. Your test results are not included in these ad requests. Clicking an ad takes you to the advertiser’s site, where their privacy policy applies.

Using Speed Test Station

Speed Test Station is a free tool that measures the connection between your device and this site’s server. By using it, you agree to these terms.

Data usage

A full test can transfer hundreds of megabytes on a fast connection. If you are on a metered or mobile plan, check your allowance before running it. The Data used figure shows what the current page has transferred.

Results are estimates

Results reflect the path to this server at one moment and are affected by your device, Wi-Fi, other traffic, browser and server load. They may differ from your provider’s advertised speeds or from other speed tests, and are not a guarantee of performance.

Fair use

Don’t automate or script the endpoint, or use it to generate load against our servers.

Third-party content

Advertisements and linked sites are run by others. We aren’t responsible for their content, products or practices.

Provided as is

The service is provided without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for damages arising from its use.

Creative format

Supply a 600 × 500 image plus a headline, short description, destination link, and call to action. On wide screens, the two sponsored placements flank a permanent advertising panel and fill the full available width. The row stacks on smaller screens.

Station styling

Artwork uses our monochrome filter, scanlines, and subtle signal-glitch effects to match the station. Original colors appear on hover or keyboard focus. Reduced-motion preferences are respected.
